Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your email address and GitHub profile information. We also collect data about your repositories necessary to generate documentation.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Service, including: authenticating your account, processing documentation generation requests, communicating with you about your account, and analyzing usage patterns to improve the product.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your code diffs and generated documentation are stored securely. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. We do not share your code or documentation with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., AI model providers).

4. AI Model Usage

Pushpen sends code diffs to third-party AI model providers (such as OpenAI via OpenRouter) to generate documentation. These providers do not use your data to train their models. Only the relevant diff context is transmitted, never your entire codebase.

5. Third-Party Services

Pushpen integrates with GitHub, Supabase, Clerk, and Vercel. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data. We only share the minimum data necessary for each integration to function.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Generated documentation may be retained in git history of your repository.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may export your data or cancel your account at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@pushpen.dev.

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use essential cookies for authentication and security (via Clerk). We also use privacy-respecting product analytics — PostHog and Vercel Analytics — to understand aggregate usage and improve the Service. These tools may set cookies or use similar technologies. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. You can block non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service.
